CARPENTER
ANTS - Without question these
insects are one of the most prevalent and destructive pests in the
state of Oregon. Carpenter ants can destroy the value of your home
in one short season. More important, carpenter ants are the kind
of pest that can return season after season. Our program can help
you get rid of these destructive pests and maintain your property
in the future. |

ODOROUS
HOUSE ANTS - Similar in size
to pavement ants, this species is known for setting up extensive
supply routes to its food sources, on your kitchen shelves for instance.
Their nests may be several hundred feet away, but their "super
highways" into your cupboards may be well traveled. Watch for
their "caravans." |
|
PHAROAH
ANTS - These tiny ants, with
colonies with up to a half million individuals, are very widespread
although they are almost too small to be noticed. In fact, their
tiny size allows them to get into sealed jars and bottles. |
|
PAVEMENT
ANTS - This small ant species
can be found nesting in lawns, gardens, sidewalk crevices as well
as kitchen cabinets and shelves, interior walls and insulation.
Their food supply can include YOUR food supply...and that is most
likely where you will find them. |
|
CARPET
BEETLES - Carpet beetles feed
on most natural fibers, preferring to do their damage in dark, secluded
places such as closets, carpeting, furs and stored cereals. |
|
CLOTHES
MOTHS - Common clothes moths
can infest and cause damage to wool, cotton, silk and felt. |
|
MEAL
MOTHS - Meal moths, whose tiny larvae can enter
sealed containers, can destroy stored flour, spices, nuts and bread. |
|
STINGING
INSECTS - Bees, wasps and
yellow jackets are commonly found both inside and outside of homes.
An average bee's nest can contain between 20,000 and 50,000 individuals.
A single yellow jacket colony may produce 10,000 workers. Wasps'
nests are much smaller, but this doesn't lessen the pain of their
sting. With all of the stinging insects, the most common and most
serious threat is to those who suffer from allergic reactions to
the stings of these insects. |
|
HONEY
BEES - These "helpful"
insects can establish nests in voided areas of your home and business.
Give us a call if you have this "honey" of a problem. |
|
FLEAS
- In less than 90 days, one female can produce over 150,000 offspring!
Living primarily on blood, fleas are known to carry a number of
diseases potentially harmful to both animals and humans. |
|
SPIDERS
- Almost any spider bite can cause blood poisoning, but the one
species to be aware of is the black widow. This extremely poisonous
spider nests in the dark secluded places under homes and crawl spaces,
usually out of sight. |
|
RODENTS
- Rats and mice love your home for the food, shelter and warmth
it provides them. They make their nests in hard to reach places,
seriously contaminate your food supply and can carry harmful and
even fatal diseases. They like to chew through electrical and plumbing
insulation. Their droppings may be your first clue to their presence. |
|
TERMITES
- Termites are among the world's most destructive pests. The large
damp wood termite species needs rotting wood to survive. Wherever
moisture is present in your home, any wood in the vicinity may be
a potential home for these voracious insects. The tiny subterrranean
termite lives deep underground in large colonies. In large numbers,
these termites will forage for hundreds of feet in all directions
from their nest looking for a meal. You do not want that meal to
be your home! |
|
COCKROACHES
- These nasty and hardy insects, existing in numerous forms the
world over, will hitchhike into your home in grocery bags, cartons
and even in used furniture and appliances. They explore by night,
contaminating food and food preparation surfaces with their droppings,
spreading salmonella, diarrhea and other diseases. |
|
SILVERFISH
- These lightnigh-quick pests will make themselves comfortable just
about anywhere in your home. Their diet includes starchy materials
like paper, cotton, cereals as well as sugar and oats and even some
synthetic fibers. |
|
CENTIPEDES/MILLIPEDES
- These unusual creatures can make their home in your garden as
well as any soft damp wood in your home. Destructive to any environment
they live in, they are common in the entire state in a variety of
forms. |
|
SOW
BUGS - These "cute"
little bugs are actually a destructive form of beetle that can invade
your household. |
|
BIRD
AND BAT REMOVAL - A common
problem in the Northwest. Both nesting bird colonies and bats like
to make their homes in dark, hard surfaces like the chimney at your
home and the cement duct work at your business. Noise, damage and
loss of ventilation can cause countless problems that can be disastrous. |
|
BOOK
LICE - Books, fabrics and
wallpaper are among the favorite foods of this little known, yet
common household pest. A chewed or deteriorated book page may be
a clue that your library may be home to this pest. |
DEAD
ANIMAL REMOVAL - An unpleasant
but common problem can take place not only under your house, but
in the interior walls as well. The odor is the first clue that you
may have a problem. |
